Our Thursday March 21st, 2024 program for the evening will be presented by Society Member Geno Dailey. He will cover a cross-country Amtrak rail journey he completed in November 2023. The presentation will consist of photography and commentary on a total of 8 Amtrak trains through a total of 15 states covering a personal record-breaking 6,846 Amtrak route miles! |
The Amtrak routes covered in this all-rail round trip program will include the following: Lake Shore Limited (3x), Southwest Chief, Coast Starlight, California Zephyr, Ilini & Saluki. You'll see photos covering onboard service, Amtrak's newest locomotive, the Siemens ALC-42 Charger, as well as some surprises along the way. This program will feature a little something for every railfan or anyone who has ever thought about wanting to ride Amtrak so please join us for what promises to be a very entertaining and informative program on the wonderful experience of cross-country train travel! Doors open at 6:00pm, with the meeting starting at 7:00pm. The Railroad and Steel Plant Museums will be open before, during, and after the meeting. Tuesday, February 13th, 2024 Public Meeting - Annual Members Meeting and Trustee Election. After a brief business meeting, including updates from the various WNYRHS departments. Our February program will include the annual election of the WNYRHS Trustees, followed by a members' "Open Projector" Night." Our members are encouraged to bring their favorite Digital Photos, Videos or Slides, old or new, to share with the group. Multi-Media equipment will be on hand. Snacks and refreshments will be available for purchase during the meeting. Doors open at 6:30pm, with the meeting starting at 7:00pm.
