After the hole is cleared, a heavy duty fabric similar to landscape fabric covers the bottom of the entire area, and a honeycomb like plastic web is laid where the track will go.

Stone is used to fill the honeycomb chambers whose walls are perforated for drainage.
The measuring rod on the right was used to ensure the correct depth.
