"Y" Class
The "Y" Class locomotive, built by Clyde Engineering in the 60s, was a general purpose diesel-electric locomotive which utilised the bogies and motors retrieved from scrapped 'Swing Door' suburban EMU sets. Mainly used for shunting operations and branch line services, they were also occasionally used on mainline goods and pass services. The power of these units is 640hp. More Information.
