"Y" Class
The "Y" Class locomotive, built by Clyde Engineering in the 60s, was a general purpose diesel-electric locomotive which utilised the bogies and motors retrieved from scrapped 'Swing Door' suburban EMU sets. Mainly used for shunting operations and branch line services, they were also occasionally used on mainline goods and pass services. The power of these units is 640hp. More Information.
Y102 is now owned by the Seymour Railway Heritage Centre (SRHC). Last sighted 10th November 2024 Down light engine leading T382, running return cabrides from SRHC's yard to the mainline.
Y109 features "El Zorro's" 'grey, orange and yellow' livery. Y109's car body has been replaced with Y145's, thus it has been renumbered Y145. It is now owned by the Yarra Valley Railway (YVR).

Y119 features "Freight Australia" 'green and yellow' livery however the 'Freight Australia' logos have been covered with 'Pacific National' logos. It is now owned by Regional Connect. Last sighted 29th April 2023 stabled, Seymour Railway Heritage Centre.

Y129 now features "Public Transport Victoria's" 'violet, white and yellow' livery. It is owned by V/Line Passenger. Last sighted 13th January 2025 idle, Southern Cross station sidings, Melbourne.
Y133 in original Victorian Railways "VR" 'blue and yellow' livery. It is owned by Victrack Heritage and allocated to the Victorian Goldfields Railway (VGR). Last sighted 30th November 2019 Down light engine, Castlemaine (VGR) yard sidings.
Y135 features original Victorian Railways "VR" 'blue and yellow' livery with 'SGR' logos. Once owned by South Gippsland Railway, it is now owned by the Yarra Valley Railway (YVR). Last sighted 4th March 2006 stabled, Korumburra station stabling yards.
Y137 still in "V/line" 'tangerine' livery. It is owned by Victrack Heritage and allocated to the Australian Railway Historical Society (ARHS). It is on static display in the Australian Railway Historical Society museum, Newport.

Y145 has been scrapped. The car body of Y145 was used to rebuild Y109, thus Y109 has been renumbered Y145. Last sighted 3rd June 2005, El Zorro maintenence yard, Newport, Melbourne.
