The XP class locomotive, road numbers 2000 - 2018 are owned by the New South Wales Rail Corporation and operated by Countrylink. The power of these units is 1980hp. "XP" being short for "express", these locomotives where introduced to CountryLink passenger service in 1982 and are found on pull - push passenger train combinations travelling between Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and country New South Wales.
