For the second straight year, I decided to use Amtrak as transportation to go Christmas Shopping. To stretch things out, I decided to ride to Utica, shop partially there and do the rest in Syracuse. This trip included a missed connection thanks to a late Lake Shore Limited...

My annual trip to Cedar Point, and the first since my 2001 Internship there. I also decided to go back to Albany to railfan with a few friends in the area. I took my last ride on the Pennsylvanian before it was converted back to it's New York-Pittsburgh schedule.

My summer railfanning trip for 2002. I had the interesting experience of being on a 5+ hour late Lake Shore Limited no thanks to CSX's 40mph speed restriction due to extreme heat. I also railfanned in Massachusetts under some of the hottest/most humid conditions I've ever seen...

I scheduled and took this trip more or less out of fear that Amtrak would shut down the following week due to a severe lack of funding. As luck would have it, the shutdown was averted by an influx of cash from Congress, nonetheless, it proved to be a very good trip...

This was my first Cross-Country Amtrak Trip. Seeing the Country by rail is the absolute best way to see everything! This ride allowed me to visit my Aunt & Uncle in California as well as see some beautiful parts of the country, and experience Summer weather in February!!!
