A Visit To Cedar Point Amusement Park
I started Friday by waking up shortly after 11am (gotta love vacations!), and going to lunch with a friend of mine in the area at a local Chili's restaurant. After lunch, my friend drove me to the local Enterprise Rent-A-Car location where I picked up my rental car for this year. I had a "Standard Size" car reserved however there was a Nissan Altima on the lot which was considered to be a "Full Size" car. I asked about upgrading which would have been an extra $5.00 a day. I was ready to pony up the extra cash but found out the car was already reserved so no such luck there. I ended up with a 2009 Dodge Caliber for a rental car for this year. After picking up the car, I drove to the nearby Super Wal-Mart and picked up some "consumables" for the hotel room (Diet Pepsi, Bottled Water, V8 Juice, etc.). After hanging out at the hotel room for a bit, I was off to Cedar Point. I would spend the rest of the day and evening at the park. It's HalloWeekends time once again and Cedar Point as in years past has the biggest Halloween party in the state of Ohio if you ask me! I ate dinner at Panda Express in the park (oh how I wish this chain was back home in Buffalo!) and ended up riding the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the park (Top Thrill Dragster) at the end of the night having waited only 15 minutes!!! I drove back to the hotel and had some more unhealthy fast food before calling it a day, and so ends day two!
On Saturday, I woke up around 9am and had a free breakfast in the hotel. I then got out the computer to transfer a bunch of pictures I took yesterday to be backed up onto an external hard drive and onto the computer. I also continued writing this travelogue. I headed to the facility I used to work at when I worked at CP back in 2001 (It's so hard to believe it's been 8 years since I worked there!). I briefly chatted with a few former co-workers before heading to the park. I would spend all day Saturday at Cedar Point. I had lunch at Panda Express and dinner at T.G.I. Friday’s. I promise you this, you WILL NOT go hungry at Cedar Point!!! They have so many great restaurants in the park, you'll have trouble deciding!!! CP once again was amazing as always. I absolutely cannot get enough of this place, it is truly a second home to me! New this year for HalloWeekends is Happy Jack's Toy Factory, a haunted house that will scare you, but it's ending is something you would never expect...a bunch of baby dolls on a wall, staring at you...peeing!!! Also new for this year is G.A. Boeckling’s Eerie Estate, another new haunted house. Also back this year was Terror Island, an outdoor attraction that takes you onto the Millennium Force Island and it's loaded with "screamsters" hiding in the fog! Other HalloWeekends favorites back this year include the Fright Zone, CarnEvil, Fear Faire, Corn Stalkers, and let’s not forget, Undertaker U. This is the 13th year for HalloWeekends and as I said before, my 18th straight year visiting the park!!! This year would mark the 15th anniversary of the "Raptor" roller coaster and the 20th anniversary of the world class "Magnum XL-200" coaster. I would stay at the park until about 11pm Saturday. After driving back to the hotel, I called it a day. And now, I have 5 big photo sections this year from Cedar Point! Check out the links below to see the photos! Special thanks goes to the Cedar Point Sales Promotions Department for it's assistance with the photography this year!
