Back to the FGV, this time a
week in Alicante from 23rd to 27th
of April 2007, for last trials with the aotumatic train protection
system ZSI 127 between
Alicante (Puerta del Mar) and La Creueta, (Including the installation
of the train equipment on units type 4200) before the definitive taking
in service.
Night 23rd to 24th of April: Test run Night
test run between Alicante (depot of La Marina) and La Creueta with the
unit UT 4103, with control of the telegrams from the ZSI 127 balises,
and trial with automatic brakings between
Venta Lanusa and Vila-Joiosa. In Poble Espanyol, crossing with the
draisine SKL 25.2.059, bought second-hand from the german railways DBAG
and modified for metre-gauge..

April: Alicante main station (Renfe) It
looks that the regulations didn't change much since I spent 4 months in
Valencia in 2005: The authorisation is still absolutely necessary to
take pictures, and it's strictly forbidden to photograph the "sensible"
zones. Instead, it seems thet the fact that big lots of people cross
the tracks everywhere (without seeking much attention to the trains)
doesn't interest anybody...

Particular
situation
in Alicante: As the trains going in direction south change the
direction at the station Alicante - Sant Gabriel, all trains in
direction Murcia leave the station Alicante pushed by the engine in the
rear. For this reason, the engine are changed at the end of the tracks
in Alicante main (who is also a terminal station).

Top 26. April After the day working in the
hotel room, a little of fresh air in the evening. Alas, the sky got
more and more dark...
Back to the hotel, packing the luggage, transfert to the airport and
direct flight Alicante -
Zürich.

to Alicante 3 weeks later to solve some last problems. The test run
with unit UT 4103 to La Creueta, starting at 23.00pm, was already
finished short after Poble Espanyol because of a problem with the
catenary...

Top 23-24 of January 2008: Commissioning of Pueblo Español - Calapiteres This
time, not the weather was problematic, but my health: I had influenza,
and so when I was not on a trial run I stayed most of the time in my
hotel room. It was the very first time I thank I would better have
stayed in the office (or better in my bed) instead of flying to Spain!
As my camera was in reparation, I loaned my son's own one, so the particular format of the pictures.
