This building was the headquarters building for the McCloud River Lumber Company and later the local office for U.S. Plywood and it’s successor companies. The McCloud River Railroad and McCloud Railway Company leased the building to house it’s headquarters from the time the railroad’s own office burned to the ground in the closing days of 1990 up until a corner of the shop building was re-built into offices about 1993. A fine bed and breakfast now occupies the structure. Photo from the Marc Reusser collection. |

The building as it appeared in August 1992 during the time period that it was housing the general offices of the McCloud Railway Company. Railroad employees had just discovered a smoldering fire in the safe in the building, hence the fire trucks on the street adjacent to the building. |
