Sunkist
I kit bashed Walther's Water Street Freight Terminal into a replacement for my Sunkist Orange packing building.
First I ditched the office section of the model and just used the warehouse part. I did however use the entire length of the loading platform to increase output up to three cars at a time. The building style looks very similar to the style of prototypes found in the Redlands and East Highlands area of California.
The large overhanging roof however had to go. Not only did it block the view of the dock, but it doesn't belong in this climate where rain is sparse. Instead I made widely spaced lumber sections to cover the protruding trusses and create small amounts of shade to keep the temperature down on those warm days of harvest during Indian Summer out there in the orange groves.
It is still a work in progress with the orange trees still needing to be replaced after the remodeling. The fruit stand is going to get a lot more detail and a couple of new trucks with the proper crates for oranges are on the wish list.

Here is the new sign and front porch light. The building is temporarily in another section of the layout but this is the building that will be in the orange groves.
