Fall in the Foothills This is the foothill area. The mainline passes through here on it's way up Lone Wolf Canyon to Wolf Mountain. This area is a transition between suburban and rural, where new suburbs are being built. The orange groves and vineyards are being replaced with new tract housing. The time of year here is autumn. It is Halloween at one house and harvest time later in the fall at the orange groves.
My Halloween House is nearly complete. Be sure to check out the images. The Sunkist Packing House remodeling is nearly complete.
The Foothill Amphitheater has just opened and southern California's No Doubt headlines the show on the main stage, drowning out the sound of the mainline freight which is passing right behind them. Further up in the foothills a German polka band plays the Beer Barrel Polka at the Octoberfest being held at Lone Wolf Lake. Pictures of it will be coming soon.
The two newest industries are located here at the base of the pass, Cargill Flour Mill and Foothill Steel Distributor. Both are based on the prototypes. Cargill is completely new and is yet to be built. Foothill Steel uses the overhead traveling crane which used to be located on the West Side at Pipe Co. Pipe Co has since been closed and is being remodeled into the West Side Auto Distribution Center.
