Sand Mountain
Lone Wolf and Santa Fe Railroad

Sand Mountain

After leaving Wolf Mountain the main line flies across to Sand Mountain without loosing much altitude as a set of alluvial fans have created a natural bridge between the two mountains ranges as the climate changes from forest to desert. There are no industries here but you can see mining operations in the distance. There is a nice long siding so trains can easily pass in the night or in the day.
