I was scheduled to have Enterprise pick me up for a 12:00 Noon rental car but due to some delays on their end, I wouldn't pick up the car until 2:30pm. In the mean time, I walked to a nearby Sonic restaurant for lunch outside in the 48 degree windy air! We don't have this chain back home and they have good tater tots, and the breakfast burrito I ate wasn't bad either! After lunch, I walked back to the hotel and Enterprise eventually picked me up. I would get a 2012 Toyota Camry LE for a rental car, a car I'm glad I got the chance to "audition" since my personal vehicle is a 2012 Honda Accord EX. The car is decent, but my Honda has a bit more interior room! I was however able to fit very comfortably in the car after adjusting the seat controls. I drove over to the Sandusky Mall to get a haircut at MasterCuts before going to Wal-Mart to get some food for the hotel. I then continued writing this travelogue. For HalloWeekends, Cedar Point opens on Friday nights at 6:00pm. I drove to the park, and would spend the entire evening there. One thing I noticed right away was that it was quite cold outside!!! I would spend most of the time Friday night taking new night photos. It's amazing that every time I come to this park, I spot a photo angle I didn't see before! After spending the evening in the park, I drove back to the hotel and called it a day.
On Saturday, I first backed up the photos I took yesterday onto 3 hard drives (I'm not gonna risk losing these photos while on the trip!) and continued writing this travelogue. I would spend all day at the park though the weather would refuse to cooperate during the later part of the day. I will say this though, there's nothing like riding a roller coaster in the rain at night!!! Cedar Point has once again lived up to its designation as "Best Amusement Park In The World" for the 15th year in a row. The park was all set up for HalloWeekends which if you ask me is the best time of the year to visit the park since you're not baking in 95 degree heat and the park is open until midnight on Friday and Saturday! Coming in 2013 is GateKeeper, a new roller coaster that will transform the front of the park forever so this means I will definitely be back here again next year! After spending the entire day at the park, I drove back to the hotel and called it a day. Included here are photos taken at Cedar Point this year (some of them were taken on 2 prior road trips here earlier this year to better illustrate the story). If you ever get a chance to visit this place, you will have an incredible time! There is simply no park like it anywhere in the world, Enjoy!!!
