Come to a Star Studded Event celebrating the return of Lehigh Valley Railroad Caboose #95050 |

| On April 16th, 2010 the WNYRHS Williamsville Depot will sponsor “The Caboose Affair,” a fund-raising social event to benefit the historic Williamsville Depot, and to bring to the depot the Society’s Lehigh Valley Caboose back to Williamsville. The event will take place from 6 to 10 PM on Friday evening, April 16, 2010, at the Main-Transit Fire Hall, 6777 Main Street, Williamsville, New York. Festivities will include: Chinese Auction Silent Auction Live Auctions Wine by New York State wineries and other beverages Hors d’ouvres Live Music Historic Railroad Displays Door Prizes Raffles Free Parking. |
| The prime use of the funds raised will be to move Lehigh Valley caboose #95050 from a siding in Hamburg to the depot on South Long Street, and to restore it to its original 1931 appearance inside and outside. It is to be placed on a segment of track installed last summer adjacent to the depot by Society members including the Williamsville Depot Crew. Since 1990, members of the all-volunteer Western New York Railway Historical Society have been working to preserve and restore the 1896 Lehigh Valley station on South Long street in the Village of Williamsville. Tickets to “The Caboose Affair” are $20 per person pre-sale and $25 at the door. They are available at: the Amherst Bee, 5564 Main Street; the Hampton Inn (M-F), 5455 Main Street; the Amherst Daimond Exchange, 5540 Main Street; Ten Thousand Villages, 5596 Main Street; the Vacuum Cleaner Center, 5735 Main Street; and through our Secure Paypal Account Button found below. Each $20 payment will get you one ticket to the event. |
| The Society would like to have the #95050 fully restored and on display at the Williamsville Depot for the 2010 tourist season. All donations will be applied to the transport and restoration of this classic piece of railroad history.
