SEPTA Warminster Line and New Hope and Ivyland Railroad Warminster PA November 20 2015 |
It is a bright and sunny afternoon and PN 5342, aka the Tiger Lady, is waiting patiently just north of Street Road in Warminster. But waiting for what you might wonder??? |
Waiting for SEPTA Extra 52 to run around and shove NHRR GP30 2198 up to them. 2198 was brought to Lansdale from Ivyland on the overnight job PN W230 and was picked up by NS 2102 at Lansdale on November 10. 2102 brought it down to SEPTA's Wayne Electric Shop to have some wheel work done. For the return, originally the call was to ship it back the same way, but it was decided it would be simpler for all if they just return it directly to Warminster. |
After running around at CP Warm, SPAX 52 shoved 2198 north of CP Street as 5342 came south on the Warminster Running Track. |
SEPTA 52 has been the "go to" engine for many of these equipment moves over the years (2015 picking up 2102, returning 2102, removing a transformer, 2005 picking up ballast cars, picking up flat cars, dropping off cars for West Chester Railroad). |
After 52 cut away, 5342 coupled up. |
5342 took 2198 straight to the railroad's shops in its first namesake town, here passing through its second namesake town (guess New Hope and Warminster doesn't have the same ring to it). |
