Railfan Pictures of the Week - 9/7/2014
Pennsylvania Northeastern Bethlehem Branch Hatfield and SEPTA Lansdale Station Lansdale PA August 23 2014 |
Last year's Founder's Day Excursions featured GP30 2198 and C30-7 7087 and five cars, the year before that GP30 2198 and C39-8 8211 and six cars, with both starting and ending at New Hope and trips to Souderton in between. This year was a little different as they dispensed with the New Hope portion and concentrated on the Souderton excursions. First run of the day up to Souderton for 2014's Founder's Day has PN C39-8 8211 leading past Hatfield Station ... |
and PN SD40-2W 5342 (aka The Tiger Lady) trailing with four cars sandwiched between. |
The Bethlehem Running Track was the point of departure at Lansdale Station. |
The weather cooperated, well sort of, as the overcast skies minimized the harsh shadows and allowed shots of the 8211 (which would have been difficult in bright sunlight - see 7087 last year)). |
The train was even nice enough to pose for pictures between trips. |
Bonus: Where's Dale? |
