| Earlier this year, there was a discussion on Railroad.NET regarding cowcatchers on ex-Reading Silverliners vs pilots on ex-Pennsylvania and Penn Central Silverliners (also a few RPOTW pages were devoted to this subject here, here and here). As part of an ongoing truck overhaul project, the cowcatchers were being removed in favor of the pilots. Silverliner IV 280 was reported to be the only car known to have both, but 299 also has both but only on its B end. |
