Railfan Pictures of the Day - 07/04/2006
SEPTA Warminster Line between Roslyn and Cresmont Stations Abington PA July 1 2006 |
Follow-up on the head-on collision of two SEPTA passenger trains. Part One can be found here, Part Two here. |
The last three cars of the outbound train, Silverliner IV 299, 370 and 371, are pulled away from the lead car 407 by Extra 60, allowing better access for the rerailing process. |
Now the rerailing crew can get to work, first bringing up a number of wooded blocks that will be used to guide the wheels of 407 back onto the rails, once the rolled rail is righted. |
And what do you use to haul around all those wooden blocks? Your very own trailer, complete with flanged wheels, SEPTA logo and a number board from Silverliner IV 321. |
Meanwhile Extra 60 brought the three cars down to Glenside ..... |
and backed them onto the siding, cut away from the cars and ..... |
headed back through Carmel Interlocking into the out-of-service area to help with rerailing 407. |
