Amtrak has put it's new ALC-42s on the Empire Builder. They have gone through a lot of issues in the first couple days of being in service. The first ALC-42s will likely be put on the California Zephyr and ran through Colorado later this year. Issues include diesel, electric and technical problems, hitting a truck at a crossing, PTC issues and being around ten hours late getting to Chicago.
