Taking the Pacific Sands along the Pacific Sand to San Diego

Part 4.  Heading Home

Our departure time, 6:20 p.m. behind Train 591, arrived and we reboarded for our 100-mile ride north.  The passengers congregated in the vestibule.  Doug said, "This is the best seat in the house on the way home."  He said it would be fine to stay on the vestibule as much of the trip as we wanted.  I've ridden on an open platform on the McKinley Explorer before ,<http://www.trainweb.org/carl/halx2003/McKinley.htm > and still remembered that I got some of my best photographs going north of Santa Barbara on that open platform.
