| The Nevada Southern Railway is located on Yucca Street in Boulder City, NV just a short drive from the world famous Las Vegas strip, the city of Henderson, and Hoover Dam. I decided I was going to ride this railroad twice. Once as a passenger and once in the cab! Yes, for an additional charge, you can ride in the cab of the locomotive pulling the train! The railroad museum is run by volunteers and volunteers staff the train as their safety crew. The ride takes you from their station in Boulder City up to just past the Railroad Pass Hotel & Casino for about a 6 mile round trip. They also offer a side trip into the "bone yard" on a locomotive known as the "Old 97" where you can see some more of their vast collection of historic railroad equipment. This was a very nice excursion ride that if you're in the Las Vegas area, you should definitely make the drive out here to experience. Below is a photo essay on this excellent railroad. Enjoy... |
