Amtrak Richmond Ellerson Station (Mechanicsville, VA) was located between Williamsburg, VA and Charlottesville, VA (about 6 miles north of Downtown Richmond, VA).  Amtrak provided free motor coach service between Ellerson Station and Staples Mill Road Station

In 1975 Amtrak stopped using Richmond Main Street Station and started using the Ellerson Station for James Whitcomb Riley.  However, Amtrak Service to Ellerson Station ended on June 14, 1976 due to discontinuance of James Whitcomb Riley, Newport News Section.  It was very short-lived station.  The old wooden C&O station building was demolished in 1985.
