Willamette Valley was discontinued in December 1981

Amtrak Milwaukie, OR Station was located 7 miles south of Portland, OR.  Amtrak Timetable issued on October 25, 1981 only showed "East Milwaukie, OR" instead of Milwaukie.  The station was actually located in the City of Milwaukie and it seemed that the location of the station was west side of the city.  The reason why Amtrak added "East" on the station name is unknown.

Amtrak service to Milwaukie ended in December 1981 due to discontinuance of Willamette Valley.  Amtrak Cascades currently runs on the same route, but the trains do not stop at Milwaukie, OR.  Amtrak Oregon City Station opened in April 2004 and the station is located about 7 miles south of Milwaukie, OR.

Note: Milwaukee, WI is a different station (the last two letters are "ee").
