The Jesup depot was severely damaged in February 2003 by an electrical fire.  In 2005, Jesup received $836,000 in federal funds to restore the building.  On October 27, 2012, the people of Jesup celebrated the completion of the rehabilitation and a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on March 8, 2013.
