The Rochester Institute of Technology Model Railroad Club's third annual two day winter Tiger Tracks Train Show was held on December 6th and 7th of 2008 at the Gordon Field House. The Rochester Area S-Gaugers were invited to set up our modular layout for this event as we have for several years previous. Both club-owned and member-owned modules were set up in a 10 foot by 20 foot configuration. Modules are built to the NASG S-Mod standards.

The RASG club's latest acquisition, an American Models 4-8-4 Northern class locomotive in Santa Fe livery, is on the point of a freight train. |
We had a successful setup for two days at the RIT Tiger Tracks Train Show on December 6th and 7th. George Cole, Don Confaratto, Dave Daniel, Roger Delthony, Craig Erickson, Rick Israelson, Bill Johnson, and Chuck Smith took part in set up or running that weekend.
It was the first chance to run in the two-train control on the inner main and it worked well. It was also the first installation of two clear Plexiglass panels in front of the accessory models. The panels have holes for visitors to reach through to push the buttons to activate accessories, but prevent/reduce the chance of visitors reaching across the tracks and interfering with trains.
At the Diplomat show in November a boy reached across in front of our new AM Northern class locomotive running on the outer main, caught the front of the cow catcher with his sleeve, and only Chuck Smith's fast reflexes in grabbing the locomotive prevented it from hitting the floor. |
