GO requested to purchase the 140 year old station and to renovate the station to meet their current needs but would like to own the structure outright before doing so
GO would like to rehabilitate Maple station as they did with the former CN Aurora depot. The Maple station was remodelled over 100 years ago and GO wanted to restore the exterior of the station to its turn-of-the-century Grand Trunk Railway appearance - the interior changes to provide for improved ticket sales and the passenger waiting facilities as well as add washrooms and make the station fully accessible to the physically disabled (1993)
