Railfan Pictures of the Week - 4/3/2016
Pennsylvania Northeastern Bethlehem Branch Souderton PA March 23 2016 |
PN L160 is heading for Telford to exchange a string of loaded LPG tank cars and a load of lumber with ESPN, and PN C39-8 8211 is running a little rich. |
Fortunately the branches above were little more than singed. |
At Central Avenue grade crossing, the engineer took his foot off the gas, even though they were only half way up the hill, but resumed the ascent after the engines cleared the road. |
Approaching the apex, he did give it a bit more, but 8211 kept the pyrotechnics to a minimum. |
Passing under the appropriately named Summit Avenue. The former southbound main appears to have gone untouched for a while, save for some tank cars in storage between Reliance Road and Third Street. It is normally used to access Moyer at Reliance Road but the plant's dump track has had problems for the past several months, resulting in no rail shipments. |
