Railfan Pictures of the Week - 4/26/2015
SEPTA Route 15 Trolley Richmond Street Philadelphia PA March 28 2015 |
The work on Richmond Street continues. Since the last visit, they have dropped in the second and third of the four bridges for rail access to Port Richmond (or more accurately, what is left of it). |
Bridge Number 1, the southern most bridge, was the second to be installed and comes off the Richmond Industrial Track heading south toward ... nothing. There is no industry nor any customers left south of Lehigh, so not sure why this is needed. |
Bridge Number 2 was the first bridge installed and is next to the existing routing to the remaining customers: Riverside Materials, Westway Terminal and the Tioga Marine Terminal. Bridge Number 3 will replace the temporary fill bridge beyond the pilings. |
Until the through route is clear, the rails heading north stop here ... to be continued ... |
