Railfan Pictures of the Week - 1/18/2015
SEPTA Route 15 Richmond Street Philadelphia PA December 13 2014 |
Work on Richmond Street is progressing. The new vegetarian bridge will not be eating any more wayward trucks, and the retaining walls even have pretty designs on them. A real improvement on what it replaces. |
The rails have progressed to the bridge but now they wait for a way through. |
Richmond Street is open to Lehigh Avenue, with the tracks south to Girard Avenue complete. |
Meanwhile, on the north side of the bridge, the foundations for the retaining wall have been set and the rebar waits for forms and the pour. |
The new trolley rail also waits. When completed, there will be four railroad bridges here, which considering the amount of traffic Port Richmond generates, seems like overkill. Should be interesting to see. |
