Railfan Pictures of the Week - 12/01/2013
SEPTA Wayne Junction Station Philadelphia PA November 12 2013 |
The new high level platforms at Wayne Junction opened on October 28 2013, and the buildings look beautiful. Compare now versus what they looked like last year or almost two years ago or five years ago. |
The temporary ticket booth will have to do until the rest of the platform is completed. |
Access to the new platform is via the reopened Germantown Avenue entrance, as the Wayne Avenue (below) and Windrim Avenue entrances are under construction. |
What the station really needs is a Reading Company train to pull in, but on this day, an ex-RDG engine will have to do as NS SW1001 2102 (the former RDG 2612 and after that CR 9412) comes down from Lansdale for its quarterly inspection. |
