Former Reading Perkiomen Branch Oaks PA February 12 2013 |
While you can still see some action on the north end of the old Perkiomen Branch and a "little" in the middle (pun intended), the south end is berift of activity, though not of equipment. These stragglers have had a rather large retail complex spring up around them in the two decades they have been residents. |
Former Massachusetts Electric Company 0-4-0 tank engine # 1 was part of the original Steamtown collection in Bellow Falls VT but was sold at the final Steamtown USA auction in 1988 and wound up here. |
It even says "STEAMTOWN 1" on the cab, barely. |
In between the # 1 on the south end and a track speeder on the north end are a 45 ton locomotive identified on other sites as AWSX 60, which would make it one of the few things from Alan Wood Steel still around, and ... |
a Whitcomb 20 Ton locomotive. Although some sites list it as part of the original Steamtown USA collection, it does not appear on any rosters available. |
