SEPTA/CSX Stony Creek Branch Norristown PA September 24 2012 |
CSX has had complete control of the Stony Creek Branch for over a year, and they decided that enough is enough. A swarm of maintenance of way equipment has descended all over the line and tie replacement has begun. Down at the Norristown end of the line (for the uninitiated, that is compass west but railroad east), the scene of repeated derailments (2005 and 2007 for example), the dilapidated tracks at Elm Street are being rehabilitated and long-disused switches are being removed. |
Down in SEPTA's MU yard, a couple pieces of equipment were stored out of the way ... |
while several pieces work at CP Elm. |
