CSX Blue and Trenton Lines Philadelphia PA October 1 2009 |
After picking up Silverliner III 237 from SEPTA Extra 52, CSX B738 takes the car down the Blue Line through CP Nice heading for the Trenton Line. |
Crossing over from the Blue Line to Trenton Line, it's downhill to CP River from here. |
After getting talked by the signal at CP Belmont, they roll onto the Belmont Connecting Railroad, which connected the Pennsylvania with the Reading at Belmont Junction. |
Nearing CP Zoo and the High Line, it's hard to believe that this is just a few miles from Philadelphia City Hall and Center City. This is one of the beauties of the jewel of the city, Fairmount Park, one of the largest municipal parks in the world. |
CSX B738 on the High Line passing the former Pennsylvania Railroad steam plant and Race Street coach yard at Thirtieth Street Station. The steam plant and its huge smoke stack are scheduled for demolition early next month, another landmark and photo prop gone. |
Finally, they stop at CP Broad in South Philadelphia waiting for clearance into Greenwich Yard. B738 will cut off the car and leave it there for the local yard job to deliver it the last mile. |
