Railfan Pictures of the Week - 12/31/2006

The year 2006 marked the thirtieth anniversary of the demise of the Reading Company as a railroad, and Dale Woodland has provided a glimpse at what once was.

A Reading passenger train with a Pacific leading flies around the curve from Telford to Souderton in this 1950 shot (compare with same scene in 2006 on this page).
An all-Budd shot of Reading Terminal in the 1970's, RDC's to the left, Silverliners to the right.
An ore train through Rockhill heading for Bethlehem.
RDG 3409 and friends pop out of Black Rock Tunnel in Phoenixville.
RDG 3652 rolls through Valley Forge.
RDG 6304 on the point pulling through Limerick.
RDG 7601 and 7604 lead another EMD with an eastbound mixed freight in Pottstown.
RDG FP7A 903 (now owned by the chapter) pauses on the head end of a passenger train as it makes a stop in Phoenixville on the way up to Reading.
