CSX Trenton Line CP Nice Philadelphia PA September 23 2010 |
Update on the CSX Trenton Line Double Stack Clearance Project. Previous pages can be found here, here, here and here. The CSX Track Department is in the process of laying a temporary track from CP Nice to CP River to allow Trenton Line trains to run while the new lower track is installed. |
The old track (in the foreground) will be removed and finally the work will begin on the concrete bathtub which will allow water to be drained from the already flood-prone area. |
A look west from CP Nice with the former Budd Hunting Park plant to the left. |
A little farther west, near the old Tastykake Plant, the track is not yet ready for primetime. |
It appears this machine is used to straighten out the track by locking onto the forward section of rail, using the tines in the center to dig into the ballast and anchor the base, and the rear section locking onto the rail to pull the out-of-alignment track over. |
