Railfan Pictures of the Day - 04/30/2007
SEPTA/NS/CSX Stony Creek Branch PA Norristown PA April 12 2007 |
Part Three of a series. Part One is here, Part Two is here. |
CSX C746 derailed in Norristown PA on its way to Lansdale PA. CSX, NS and Terra personnel discuss the game plan for getting the cars back on the track. |
Fortunately, access was not a problem as the cars had derailed at the grade crossing. |
A few cars ahead, the power was in the woods but still on the rails. |
The sidewinder was brought in to support the third car as the three northernmost cars were rerailed. |
The sidewinder was walked along side as the engines pulled the cars, which were rerailed using the grade crossing in much the same way one would use the rerailer track that is included in your average HO scale model set. |
