CSX Lansdale Yard Lansdale PA January 12 2007 |
Once the New Hope and Ivyland Railroad stabled three General Electric C30-7's, but two of them have recently been sold to the Ohio Central Railroad. The former CSX 7064 is sitting in Lansdale Yard waiting for the next C746 out of town and on its way to its new home. Wait, that sounds familiar??? Oh yeah, used that line yesterday! This is one of those cases where harsh sunlight (that was yesterday) actually hides flaws rather than exposes them. Today's overcast sky allowed a more detailed inspection of OHCR 7064 ... |
And it ain't pretty. The silver paint, covering the CSX markings, that is almost invisible on the gray sides is not so much on the yellow nose. |
The primer gives the unit the appearance of having chicken pox. |
But Lansdale is known for bad looking units. Superficially, 7064 doesn't look much worse than the two years younger CSX GP40-2 6212 which was leading B738 out of the yard. |
