On Saturday, May 19, 2001 the J. S. Acker Children's Festival was held at the Prescott Public
Library. This is an annual festival for children with a costume contest, clowns, youth performing arts, family fun and exhibition booths. The Prescott Canyon Southern Garden Railroad was invited to attend and set up a working layout for kids of all ages to experience "Trains R Fun". An 8x18 foot G gauge oval with 2 sidings was set up on the floor where 3 trains were able to run. One R/C unit and 2 battery operated trains. The following images show the involvement and fascination children and adults alike have with trains. |

Fascination......
|
This young man just couldn't take his
eyes off the trains. |
Even the
girls enjoyed operating the whistle and the bell on the R/C controls. |
Then there's the "up close and
personal" |
There's
something magnetic about trains running. Many parents were as fascinated as the children. |
