Chessie System Freight Cars
These photos are all current,
and recent pictures of ex-Chessie freight cars.
Why.?. (you may ask...)
Well, I just can't get over that ol' Chessie cat,
and just want to keep it alive
somehow... and any way I can.
Some of these cars are no longer
in CSX's control, but here's my contribution
to what is still at least left
painted in Chessie colors, and ridin' the rails!

Boxcars:
I'm not going to differentiate
between all of the many types
and classifications of boxcars there are
(mainly... because I'd
get them all wrong!)
but here are all of them that I've been able
to
photograph in their Chessie Cat splendor.

Open Hoppers:
Once again, I will not try to tell you what
types of
hoppers these are, all I know, is that they
are
still painted with the Chessie Cat,
and that's all that really matters.

Gondolas:
I haven't had many opportunities to photograph
the gondolas that Chessie had. From
what
I've been able to discern, they didn't have
too many. Or if they did, they sure
aren't still
runnin' the rails in their old Chessie paint,
but here are a few that I've been able to
catch
doing their duties on the railroad.

2 Bay Covered Hoppers:
Covered Hoppers, both 2 and 3 bay, seem
to be the most prevalently available of all
of the old Chessie cars still ridin' the rails.
