ROSTER NOTES
Original maroon and cream fleet colours were later changed to red and cream.
- 1 - 20-23 were built with a J. G. Brill body mounted on a Packard chassis. They were withdrawn from service on
- September 1, 1925 and placed in dead storage. All were apparently scrapped shortly afterwards with one
- exception. The body of #23 exists today at the Halton County Radial Railway near Rockwood, ON where it
- awaits restoration.
- 2 - 9125-9139 ex-Cincinnati Street Railway Co. 1345-1359 in 1953.
- 3 - 9140-9144 ex-Ottawa Transportation Commission 2006-2010 in September 1959.
- 4 - 9145-9151 ex-Cleveland Transit System 1201, 1205, 1207, 1209, 1211, 1212 & 1218 in June 1963.
- 5 - 9152 ex-Cleveland Transit System 1225 in 1963.
- 6 - 9200 was the prototype unit for rebuilding the trolley coach fleet and the only E700. This coach was rebuilt from
- 9020 and carried that number for a time after rebuilding until renumbered 9200.
- 7 - Traction motors, controls & trolley shrouds from 9000-9124 & 9140-9143 were re-furbished and installed into
- new trolley coach bodies, built by Flyer of Winnipeg, Manitoba, during 1970-72. Since Toronto wished to
- standardize on General Electric equipment, coaches 100-104, 106-108, 110-113 were obtained from the
- Cornwall Street Railway Light & Power Co. and 204, 205, 209, 217, 227, 246, 251, 263, 264 & 272 from
- the Nova Scotia Light & Power Co. (Halifax) in 1970. Toronto's Marmon fleet had Westinghouse electrical
- equipment and were scrapped. The Cornwall and Halifax acqusitions provided the necessary additional
- materials to compensate for the unusable Marmon equipment, allowing for the old trolleys to be replaced with
- new on a one-for-one basis.
- 8 - 9144 was shipped to Robin-Nodwell in England in 1967 when the TTC was conducting feasibilty tests on the
- rebuilding of its trolley coach fleet. This firm was unable to take on the project, and for a time, Flxible Ltd. of
- England considered the job. However they later abandoned the idea. Number 9144 was eventually scrapped
- in England.
- 9 - 9214 was destroyed by fire on August 30, 1972 and retired for scrappping.
- 10 - 9283 was destroyed by fire on January 9, 1973 and retired for scrappping.
- 11 - 9163-9172, 9174, 9176-9178, 9180-9192, 9196-9197 & 9199 leased from Edmonton Transit in 1990, their
- fleet numbers 163-172, 174, 176-178, 180-192, 196-197 & 199. Returned to Edmonton in 1993. The
- bodies were General Motors model T6H5307N with electrical equipment installed by Brown Boveri.
- 12 - 9149-9152(2), 9153-9157 & 9159 leased from Edmonton Transit in April 1991, their fleet numbers 149-152,
- 153-157 & 159. Returned to Edmonton in 1993. The bodies were General Motors model T6H5307N with
- electrical equipment installed by Brown Boveri.
