Although it never operated under the Toronto Transportation Commission, number 9144, ex Ottawa Transportation Commission 2010, is a very noteworthy inclusion here. In 1967, 9144 was shipped to Robin-Nodwell Manufacturing Co. in Birmingham, England, when the TTC was conducting feasibilty tests on the rebuilding of its trolley coach fleet. Due to financial difficulties, this firm was unable to take on the project. The contract was taken over by Flxible Ltd. of England, but nothing materialized. 9144 was eventually scrapped in England and the electrical equipment returned to the TTC. |
