DanielS continued work on the shed on the east side of the Mechanical Transfer.
GaryM connected feeders to the DG rails on each side of DG switch #17.
DanielS worked on the shed on the east side of the Mechanical Transfer.
TomG replaced DG Switch #17, the old one was slightly long between the throwbar and frog. He also discovered the three rails on both ends of the switch lacked feeders.
GaryM worked on DG Switch #34 on the east end of the NG yard. A toad that was long, caused problems for K-36 #480, and was shortened, plus some tight spots in the switch were
removed. Most of the yard's DG and NG switches have been tested by #480 in both directions, with the exception of the switches on the shop ladder by DG switch #17.
DanielS built the curved dumper rails on the Mechanical Transfer mock-up.
TomG soldered the loose point rail on the west switch of the #3 crossover. TomG also worked on DG Switches #2, #2A and #4 and got them operational.
GaryM soldered a loose feeder and improved the transition rails from DG Switch #20 to the SG TT arrival lead. GaryM began testing K-36 #480 east facing on all the switches.
StuJ brought out his scratchbuilt depot to replace the stand-in depot.
GaryM continued Test #1 with K-36 #480 (running switch legs, facing west). Transfer Yard DG Switch #4 to the ice-house NG tracks has some major issues, could not
negotiate that switch at all.
DanielS continued working on the Mechanical Transfer mock-up.
StuJ added a platform to the depot.
Other DanielS making progress on the water pipeline.
DanielS continues building the Mechanical Transfer mock-up.
GaryM continued Test #1 with K-36 #480 (running switch legs, facing west). Switch #23 from the Coaling Tower to the Turntable was tight, and corrected.
Still having a problem negotiating to the track transition to the 4 rail tracks. The sandhouse foundation is too close to the track, and will have to be relocated
back. DG Switch #16 had some tight spots which were filed out; however, it was noticed that this switch was built with an "S" in the diverging track, and will be
necessary to replace with a new switch. This switch goes into the car shops. DG switch #13 going to the RIP tracks had some tight spots which were filed out.
GaryM continued Test #1 with K-36 #480 (running switch legs, facing west). West switch of main crossover #3 Shinohara will need to be replaced. The point rail
came loose from the joint, it might be possible to fix but doubtful.
DanielS adds mounting bases for dumper rail on concrete abutments.
DanielS works on pads and concrete abutments for "growing" mock-up.
DustyT's friend's 3D printed barrel assembly.
DanielS laying out his Mechanical Transfer mock-up. The tower is made of cardboard from a cereal box!
GaryM continued Test #1 with K-36 #480 (running switch legs, facing west). DG Switches #2, #2A require resoldering of outside stock rail to remove tight spots on NG and SG rails.
All other DG switches south of Mainline passed (a few needed adjustments). #30 Crossover near the Coaling Tower had a tight spot removed (Shinohara). Still working #23 (Shinohara) next to Sand
House, some tightness and maybe rail alignment issues to TT track. Noted that the Sand House foundation is too close to track. Also, Coaling Tower Office also too tight to track, about 1/128th
inch to K-36 cab shade. Remaining DG switches to test are #10A - #17 in Transfer Yard, Car Shops, NG turntable & ashpit.
GaryM continued switch testing with K-36 #480. DG Switches #2, #2A, #2B all had tight NG & SG points and failed testing. DG Switch #2B was repaired by filing rail at the
tight locations and passed. These three DG switches are the 3 primary, critical switches from the NG arrival/departure track and mainline leading west to the Arkansas River
bridge.
Staged train with K-36s and 14 cars.
Buildings back in place until track re-design is begun.
GaryM made some minor repairs on one of the bridge supports and re-installed. DanS has been building the wood waterpipe, seen in the lower left of the photo.
DanielS has got the Charcoal Kilns built and installed. Overall, the entire location has been improved and developed. DanielS and GaryM re-located the Water Tank and
pump house to make more distance to the Mears Tank, which also should be on the mainline prior to the 3-Way switch.
DustyT has made huge progress re-shaping the terrain at the Otto bridge and adding the creek.
GerryG has been making progress on the backdrop at the Big Mine.
GaryM fine-tuned some handlaid DG switches. A lot of the early DG switches GaryM built were not "notched" for the points. Although the Blackstone engines have traversed these
without issues, now that we have brass locos available, that has not been the case. GaryM's K-36 #480 has been christened as "Track Tester", with its especially finicky
precision scale tender trucks (similar to the MMIs). Each DG switch is now undergoing painstakening testing with #480, with adjustments made to the switch as necessary,
currently in the Salida yard.
DanielS continued working on the Charcoal Kiln scenery.
Issues noted on the Otto Bridge: Tight spots, vertical track misalignment on "west" end.
TomG completed the new bridge/rails on Grays Creek.
After determining several issues on the Grays Creek trestle: less than 24" radius, curve misalignment, vertical lean to outside of curve, TomG removed the track, bridge deck
and roadbed to effect repairs.
GaryM continued ballast repair and new ballast from Cleora to the Barrel site.
DustyT rescuplted the landscape at the Otto Bridge to make sense of the terrain.
KentS built a two-sided filler backdrop between the layout and rear wall beam, to backdrop the Gunnison drop-shelf, the Crested Butte Big Mine Extension track, and the Baldwin
Branch drop-shelf, as well.
KentS and TomG continued construction on the new Baldwin Branch.
GerryG working on the CF&I Big Mine backdrop.
KentS and TomG getting a lot of benchwork up.

DanielS worked on the freight station platform.
TomG planed the spline subroadbed on the Castleton run.
GaryM completed ballasting at the narrowgauge roundhouse.
TomG & KentS levelled the spline subroadbed on the Castleton run.
GaryM laid more ballast at the narrowgauge roundhouse.
GlennG began working some scenery on the grounds.
KentS and TomG installed the first section of spline for the mainline from the dropshelf to Castleton.
GaryM added to the scenery between roundhouses and laid the first section of ballast at the narrowgauge roundhouse.
DanielS continued work on the Warehouse.
KentS and TomG installed risers along the Castleton and Kubler runs.
StuJ scratchbuilt this shop from current buildings located in town.
GaryM worked on ground cover scenery around the narrowgauge roundhouse foundation.
DanielS continued work on the Warehouse.
