Gary removed the panels under the track for the extension into the Dispatcher area, then made a cross brace and cut a new
riser to replace the current one. This will be installed on Saturday. Unfortunately, this will require removal of the
current riser to track from Grays to Marshall Passin order to install the new one which will be closer to Grays and next
to Sheds. The current one has to move "dowgrade", to accomodate the extension of the Pitkin Branch track which will wrap
through the backdrop, under the Marshall Pass track and dead end in the Dispatcher space for staging the C&S/Pitkin Branch
train.
Applied another coat of polyurathane to the West Salida, Parlin, Poncha Junction and Marshall Pass panels.
Continued spiking rail on 4th staging track (Baldwin Branch) along back wall. Other 3 tracks for Montrose staging are
completed.
Gary and Hal modified the backdrop at Tank NO.7 in order to accomdate the increase in the length of the
spur track for the C&S engine and cars which will be parked at Tank NO. 7. The next step is to build the
road bed and supporting risers required to obtain a grade between 1 and 2%. This work must be completed
before any additional scenery and structures can be placed at the Tank NO. 7 site.
Jake worked on the scenery required at Mears Junction. Jake will also be trying for the first time to assemble
hand laid switches.
Hal will assemble a cardboard mockup of the stock pens to be placed at Cimarron, Colorado. A decision was
made to make the stock pens removeable since they are to be placed on the moveable duck under.
