Smokey Road railroad bridge was replaced in 2021

Last month, I saw the preparations for a bridge replacement at Smokey Road.
They did it Oct 14, 2021, and I missed seeing it on the actual day.
I went there a week later, and saw them just loading out the big crane boom sections by using a Cat excavator to load the trucks.

A steel retaining wall and new concrete pans are in place on the steel pilings and concrete caps.

And I see why the work didn't take as long as I thought it would,
the original steel girder bridge and it's wood pilings are still there.
It's just the approaches that had the new work.
A two-foot long steel girder fills the space between old and new.

.

.

And soon, a train comes through.
