Introduced on September 2, 1975, as a benefit to offset the rise
in fare to 50 cents, especially to those who required a two fare
journey to or from work.
Without the introduction of Add-A-Ride, the passenger would have had to pay another full fare (50 cents) upon boarding the second bus on intersecting routes where free transfers were not already available. As such, the full fare was 50 cents, an Add-A-Ride was 25 cents. When the fare rose to 60 cents in June 28, 1980, the Add-A-Ride tickets remained at 25 cents. |
As with the regular transfers on the previous page, we see the decipherable coding on the selvage again for Add-A-Ride transfers. The bus depot "garage" that the particular route is assigned to and serviced at, is used as a three letter code; followed by a stock number. With issued tickets, which have been detached from the selvage; these codes are not normally seen, so they are only visible in on either booklets of transfers or complete transfers broken out of books with their selvage attached.
