April, 2004 Update

Work began on building more side panels for 918. A new process for  rolling the sheet metal was developed by Don and the first batch of panels will be replaced with the new ones. In the photos below, the new panels are being prepared. By the time each panel is glued and rolled into place, lots of weights (every available piece of scrap metal) are used to keep the metal flat while the glue cures.

Al Reynolds came down during the first few weeks of April to rebuild all of the main brake cylinders. The brake rigging was cleaned up and painted black. New bushings are being made and replace the worn ones. Last photo shows the progress made on the pilot.
