Station Improvement: Amtrak moved into the Newport News Transportation Center on August 22, 2024. The transportation center is the third facility Amtrak has used in Newport News. Amtrak originally served a former Chesapeake & Ohio Railway (C&O) depot on the southern edge of downtown.
