little bit about this layout
Members have toured the three inside layouts with Dr. Mike giving
a history at each stop. New members marveled at the Department 56
village and beautiful Christmas tree in the living room. The den
three tier ceiling layout complimented the G scale set up in the
basement. The outside layout was snowed out this year. What's new
for this year? Dr. Mike (with Pat's blessing) is putting an HO around
the ceiling of the kitchen. They've worked out a plan to run trains
and enjoy the beautiful collection of plates now setting on the
track space. Dr. Mike will be building a bridge across the doorway
to enable the train to go full circle. A train man never stops thinking
of ways to display trains. The Lurakis' hold an open house the first
Sunday in January as well. Dr. Mike read a letter from an 11 year
old boy who has been visiting the open house since he was three.
His grandfather brought him. The letter was a school writing project.
Ben thanked Dr. Mike for his advice and help in keeping his own
trains running. It was a touching tribute and will be framed and
hung in the den.
