A
little bit about this layout
Larry and Donna
have a great view of their garden railroad from the sun room. Two loops wind their
way around a small town. Hosta and spring blossoms are beginning to fill in around
the houses. This venture began in 1991 when Larry's cousin
Charlie
Szramski who was a member of SJGRS started him with an LGB starter set. Three
or four years later Charlie took Larry to a meeting at the Beare's and he's been
involved since. Charlie moved out of state but Larry and Donna continue to keep
their railroad up and running.
Christmas
finds the trains inside around the tree and is a lot of fun for their granddaughter
who controls the trains with the remote. On a visit to Illinois friends gave them
a Central N.J. railroad lantern.
Larry
has a history in railroading - his grandfather was a conductor for 49 years and
gave him a 1925 Pennsylvania Railroad Book of Rules.
Larry
also has an HO layout in the basement .
