A
little bit about this layout
Tom & Marie
are always working on the railroad. A new area was designed and completed recently.
Tom had 18 yards of dirt delivered and hand (wheelbarrow) carried it to his new
site. He built a train shed and two cedar trestles adding about 250 feet of track,
stainless steel.
Marie
makes the figures for the layout from a process she learned at a workshop at York
in April. She gave a workshop for us. She starts with foil and works it into a
stick figure. Clay (that can be bought at Michael's or A.C. Moore) is added to
the figure and then baked in a toaster oven. This process continues as layers
are added and characteristics and clothes begin to make whatever you want in your
layout. After each addition of course it is baked. Marie had a bride and several
other figures to display.
