My wandering to the National Park Service’s Steamtown, was due in part, to my hosting the Let’s Talk
Trains show on the National Parks and It’s Railroads. The National Historical site
is packed with rolling stock and displays that talk about the history of the
railroads and the people that worked on the railroads.
We started out the morning watching the steam engine
back out of the roundhouse and on to the turntable.
Next, we were taken on a guided tour of the
roundhouse exhibits.
Next, we took a yard tour on the
Scranton Limited..pulled by the Canadian National 3254. Here are some yard
shots of some of the rolling stock, plus some pictures of the interior of the
passenger cars.
Before starting show, took a closer look at the
model of the park.
We then proceeded to the cut-away steam engine to do
the Let’s Talk Trains show. After the show was over, packed up and head south
to the Philadelphia area for the night and dinner with our East Coast
relatives.
